Meditation techniques are usually practiced in a sitting position, on the floor on cushions or rugs, or on a chair. The eyes should be closed and the your concentration should only be on the breathing and movements made by the abdomen during the inhalations and exhalations. In this way, you should be able to achieve awareness of your breath. With practice, awareness of the breath should then be extended to awareness of yourself, your thoughts, your emotions and the surrounding reality.
Those who are approaching meditation for the first time generally perform short sessions, lasting about 10 minutes. The meditation time can then be increased as you gain experience and according to your needs.
Group meetings include practical meditation in the first part, and sharing the experiences lived during the practice as the last part of the practice. Of course, there is also an individual work that must be done at home on a daily basis.
